THE SPOT PRE SCHOOL - PROGRAMMING POLICY
Our program policy reflects the values, knowledge and skills of children, families and staff/carers of the centre as being all equally important to the development of the whole child.
The children's individual behaviour, level of skills, their wellbeing and wellness are the basis on which we build and foster individual programs by:
Establishing a profile for each child attending.
Keep up to date records, jottings, checklists, daily diaries, developmental summaries, photographs, to record each child's experiences and plan new ones.
Using running records, jottings, checklists, daily diaries, developmental summaries, photographs, to record each child's experiences and plan new ones.
Evaluating the program weekly by reflecting on the child's past experiences and parents' input (see section on displayed program).
Providing up to date information about the children for parents wishing to learn about their child's developmental stages.
Encouraging children's creativity and self expression through indoor and outdoor activities, music and movement, language and story groups, dramatic play, arts and crafts.
Fostering the children's development through an ecological approach, in providing experiences and activities that value their needs as well as their families' and the community's.
Exposing the children to the outdoor environment and creating experiences that will enhance their appreciation and respect of nature.
Referring and incorporating to the centre's philosophy and goals.
Self-reflecting on personal proctices, theiries and beliefs and their effectiveness or ineffectiveness and welcome change if necessary.
